James EDINGTON was born about 1807 in East Lothian, SCOTLAND, the son of Francis EDINGTON and Jean CARRAIL. He is my great great great grandfather.

On 27 April 1827 James married Janet or Jessie FERGUSON, in the Parish of Dunbar / Parish of Comrie, SCOTLAND.

Janet or Jessie FERGUSON was born about 1807 in Perth, in the Parish of Comrie, SCOTLAND, the daughter of James Ferguson (- bef 1861) and Janet MORRISON.

They had the following children:

i. Hugh. Born on 4 February 1827 in Spott, East Lothian, SCOTLAND. GROS 720/000003. In the 1841 census his occupation is given as agricultural labourer.

ii. Janet. Born in 1831 in East Lothian, SCOTLAND.

iii. James (~1829-1906)

iv. Mary. Born in 1833 in East Lothian, SCOTLAND.

v. John. Born about 1835 in Spott, East Lothian, SCOTLAND. In the 1851 census his occupation is given as agricultural labourer.

vi. Anne / Ann. Born on 12 Feb 1837 in Athelstaneford, East Lothian, SCOTLAND. (GROS 703/000003) In the 1851 census her occupation is given as scholar.

vii. George. Born on 20 Jan 1839 in Aberlady, East Lothian, SCOTLAND. (GROS 703/000005) In the 1851 census his occupation is given as scholar.

viii. Peter. Born on 7 Mar 1841 in Aberlady, East Lothian, SCOTLAND. (GROS 702/000005) In the 1851 census his occupation is given as scholar.

ix. William. Born ? April 1843 in Athelstaneford, SCOTLAND. (GROS 703/000003)

x. Henry Charles. Born on 15 August 1847 in Athelstaneford, East Lothian, SCOTLAND. (GROS 703/000003)

James' cccupation is variously given as an agricultural labourer in 1841, and later as a carrier in 1859 and 1868.

James EDINGTON deceased his wife Janet before the 1851 census where she is noted as a widow.

Janet or Jessie EDINGTON, as she was know in various records, died before the marriage of their son James in 1868.

I do not know where James or Janet/Jessie are buried.
